Interview
Welcome
How are you all doing? If your children
are in school are you in the back to school routine?
Do Mommies get sick? Just wondering.
I recently had a virus and the doctor told me to get
rest. I told him I had a daughter in marching band
and there is no such thing as rest.
So, what do you do when you get sick do you just keep
plugging along? Visit our blog and post your answer.

Interview
Teri graciously was willing to be interviewed
this month. Teri is a 33 year old married CWM who
lives in the United States. She has two children a
son age 5 and a daughter age 2. She has been married
for over 8 years. Teri is an interior designer.
Teri shares the following joys of being
a CWM: I have worked for nearly 7 years with a great
group of people, who hold many of the same values
that I do. Family is always first, and I am able to
be there for my family through the flexibility of
my employer – I am very thankful for that!
I do enjoy my profession, and designing
is all I have ever wanted to do. I am able to use
the talents and gifts God gave me, while still being
there for my family. It can be the best of both worlds!
Since working is a financial necessity in our household,
I am thankful that I have a career that I love, and
an employer who lets my family come first.
Teri struggles with: trying to find
time in the day for everything. I want to be the best
designer I can be, while being the best mom, wife
and Christian that I can be. At the end of the day,
something has to give! Finding time for Bible study
is always a challenge and just being tired at the
end of the day makes those tasks at home harder. Thankfully,
my husband is a great help!
Teri shares her favorite Bible verse:
Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God.”
God is teaching Teri a few things right
now. I have had some changes at my job due to the
slow economy. Lower income, coupled with a spring
full of car repairs and other financial strains (enrolling
our son in a Christian school), has made our financial
situation strained, to say the least. But, I feel
that God is trying to show me that I don’t have
to do it alone! He will always take care of us, even
when times are tight. He seems to be telling me to
let go, and not worry so much. I still keep a tight
rein on finances, but I am trying hard not to worry
about future events.
Teri’s Words of Encouragement
for other Christian Working Moms
I think the biggest thing to remember is that there
are many of us out here, in your same shoes. Christian
moms have an added burden, since some Christians don’t
feel it is right for a mom to work – which can
make us feel guiltier than we already sometimes do!
Always remember that God made each of us unique; no
one decision is right for every family. Trust that
God will show you what is right for your situation
and time of life. Nothing is permanent!
Here is some more information about
Teri:
My full-time profession is my passion
- interior design. After working in commercial interior
design for several years, I made the switch to residential
design 7 years ago. I did this because I needed a
change, but also in anticipation of having a family.
Residential design is simply more flexible than the
commercial world! I do love what I do (on most days!),
and I love that I can be flexible with the needs of
my family. I do offer consultations via e-mail, as
well, since digital photos and other media can tell
me what I need to know about your home. Our website
is http://www.hcfineinteriors.com.
I am also an Independent Consultant with Usborne Books
at Home. We are a publisher of high-quality, education
children's books based in London. Our mission is to
encourage the love of reading and learning in children
of all ages. Our books are available through home
shows, online E-Shows, website sales and through your
schools and libraries. My website is http://www.ubah.com/g2687
- we offer very reasonable prices and low-cost shipping!
Please check it out, and feel free to contact me with
questions about the books or the company. All books
come with a 30-day money back guarantee, and a lifetime
half-price replacement policy. Happy shopping!
Teri thanks for reminding us to trust
God in all things, especially our finances. Thanks
for taking time to share with us today.
Till next time,
Kimberly M. Chastain
