Welcome and Prayer Reminder
Hello everyone and welcome to all the
new CWMs in our community. We recently had someone
join from Australia. I wonder if God can have a special
room for CWMs in heaven so we can all meet one another.
My guess is we will be way too busy worshipping God
to think about anything else.
In the United States we just completed
a very difficult Presidential election with a lot
of mean words spoken by both sides. Yet, I wanted
to remind all CWMs no matter where you live what we
are commanded to do in Scripture for our leaders.
In 1 Timothy 2:1-3, we read the following: “I
urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers,
intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone
– for kings and all those in authority, that
we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness
and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior.”
In Romans 13:1, we read, “Everyone
must submit himself to the governing authorities,
for there is no authority except that which God has
established.” So, even though we in the United
States voted for a new president, ultimately God decided
who would be our next president.
So, please lift up President Elect Obama
and his family in your prayers. Pray for their security,
health, and for him to have Godly wisdom to lead our
country. Also, pray especially for his two young daughters.
I cannot imagine having to change schools and live
in a fishbowl at such a young age.
We must follow scripture and God’s
command to pray for our leaders no matter what country
we live in. God ultimately places leaders in authority
over us.
Thanks and Need your Help X2
Thank you so much for those of you who
filled out the CWM Survey after my request in the
last issue. I really appreciate it. Right now, I need
only about 10 more CWMs to fill out the survey to
reach 2,000 women who have completed it. So, if you
have not filled out the survey yet go to: http://www.kimberlychastain.com/survey.htm
and complete it. Thanks in advance for your help.
Also, I need more CWMs who are willing
to be interviewed like Jennifer this month who helped
out. I promise the interview is practically painless.
If you are willing to be interviewed, send an email
to Kimberly@kimberlychastain.com
with interview in the subject heading and I will send
you the interview questions. CWMs are always so generous
to help out.
Prayer Partners
If you would like another CWM to pray
with you virtually send me your name and email address
to Kimberly@kimberlychastain.com
and put Prayer partner in the subject heading. I will
connect you with another CWM and the two of you can
talk through email. I have heard from many CWMs who
have said how wonderful this has been and they love
having a prayer partner. For those of you, who do
have a prayer partner, please go to the CWM Blog at
http://christianworkingmoms.blogspot.com
and under Prayer Partners needed share your experience.
Blog/Online Bible Study
I have posted a new question on the
CWM Blog about Christmas spending and also how you
keep Christ in Christmas. The blog address is listed
above in the Prayer Partner section. You can find
the Online Bible study at http://cwmbiblestudy.blogspot.com.

Interview
I really appreciate Jennifer taking
time out of her busy schedule to be interviewed. Let’s
get to know her better. Jennifer is a married CWM
who lives in the United States. She is a high school
history teacher.
She has two children: Dallas 2 ½ and Andrew
16 months.
Jennifer shares the following joys of
being a CWM: being able to help my husband provide
financially for my family. Having a personal ministry
to my students, and coworkers. Teaching allows me
to have good hours and the summers off.
Jennifer shares her struggles as a CWM:
Feeling guilty when I compare my life to my friends
who stay at home with their children. I sometimes
wonder if they will miss out on something because
I did not stay at home with them. It’s also
a struggle to spend time with my family, and keep
the household running (laundry, meals, time with my
husband, exercise).
Her favorite Bible verse is: For I know
the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, “plans
to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give
you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11.
God is teaching Jennifer that I have
to trust him to meet my needs regardless of where
he has me. When I was on maternity leave with my second
son, Andrew, I saw that staying at home is just as
difficult as working. I often talk to my stay-at-
home friends and they struggle with the same things
that most working moms do. God is showing me to be
content in where he has me right now, and that the
grass is not always greener on the other side.
Jennifer would like to encourage other
CWMs to trust God to meet their needs. We may be working
for only a small season and may have to encourage
new working mothers in the future. Also try not to
compare your life to your friends at church, your
neighbor, etc., because the plan God has for each
one of us is unique.
I would like to say a hearty Amen to
what Jennifer said about comparing ourselves to others.
When we do that we take the focus off of God and put
it on ourselves. We have to trust that God has us
right where he wants us. Thank you, Jennifer for your
words of wisdom.
