Please keep people in the Southern United States in your prayers.
So, many have lost everything due to tornadoes and now floods. The
weather has been brutal. A blessing through all of this has been
the response of churches to those hurting. Some of those churches
no longer have a building to worship in, yet they are still reaching
out to their hurting neighbors. May this be an opportunity for non-believers
to see the love of God expressed through the caring hands of Christians.
We continue to have new CWMs join us each day. Please know you
are not alone and you have Christian sisters literally all over
the world. For example, Marirose who volunteered to be interviewed
this month and lives in the Philippines. May God use each CWM to
be a bright light in their community for Christ.
Interview
Marirose is a married 41 year old CWM who lives in Northeastern
Luzon, Philippines. She has three children ages 12, 9, and 8. Marirose
is married to an Army Officer. She is a private employee who works
in Consumer Welfare.
Marirose shares the following joys in being a CWM:
1. A sense of fulfillment serving for the welfare of my husband
and children.
2. There’s peace and happiness knowing you become a torch/light
to pave the way for your children’s good future.
3. As guardian, I get the opportunity to direct and teach my children
right values, God’s teachings and most importantly how to
live their lives rightfully. Also, I correct their mistakes lovingly
and sometimes discipline my children when necessary so they know
what is right.
Marirose struggles in the following areas as a Christian Working
Mom:
1. As a working mom and a husband who is always away from home,
I get the heavy load of domestic and parenting all in one. It’s
taxing, discouraging, tiring and sometimes it drives you up the
wall.
2. When one of my children is sick, and I can get no one to take
care of them, the other two need to go to school. I’m always
have difficulty arranging my schedules in order to accomplish my
household chores, driving my children to school, running to the
office to let them know I’m going home and going back home
for my sick child. The worse problem I have is when I get sick myself,
because I’m hypertensive due to my diabetes.
3. When finances are in bad shape I find myself in trouble with
my creditors. It is difficult making ends meet to fit in my budget.
4. My husband cannot easily help me out since he is assigned to
the remotest part of Mindanao and he has to schedule his vacation.
He has to take a plane to get to Manila and from Manila has to take
the bus for 10 hours before he arrives to us. I am parenting ALONE
and taking care of three children, with their lessons and everything.
You know how moms are and all they have to do.
Favorite Bible Verse:
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.
Psalm 46:1, 11 ESV
What is God teaching you right now?
I am learning that in all things; God is helping me, supporting
me, consoling me, and strengthening me. If God has been with me
all these years, what am I afraid of? I can do anything in His name.
Words of Encouragement for other Christian Working Moms
Prayer is powerful, God answers prayers. He has done miracles.
He has shown me a lot and has showered me with more than I expected.
Keep going God sees all our sufferings and He suffers with us.
Thanks Marirose for taking time to share today. You have showed
us how God can give you strength to do all things especially when
your husband is away.
Final Thoughts
Often as women we expect our husband to meet all our needs, yet
they never can meet all our needs. Only God can meet all our needs.
As Marirose shared even when you are married you can feel alone
and God never leaves us alone. He is our shelter and strength.
