The Christian Working Mom community continues
to grow. We have over 1300 women on the subscriber list
and over 800 of you have filled out the Christian Working
Mom Survey. I appreciate all of you for participating.
If you have not filled out the Christian Working Mom

Blog Comments
I have added a few categories to the CWM
Blog. There is now a place for Prayer Requests. I also
put up a post asking you about any special Easter traditions
you have and how you handle Spring Break when your children
are out of school.
Please come share your comments at http://www.kimberlychastain.com/my-journal.
Interview
Cristy is a 40 year old married Mom who
lives in the US. She has a bonus son age 15, a son age
12, a bonus son age 10, and a daughter age 8.
Cristy says the joys of being a Christian
Working Mom are being able to contribute to the financial
stability of our home, providing a realistic example
for my daughter of how a woman can bring home the bacon,
fry it up in a pan, and be a godly wife and mother (at
least that is my desire and prayer on a daily basis
– don’t always succeed), and using my career
as a platform to share my faith in God.
Cristy shares the following struggles:
time, stress, and being pulled in 5 different directions.
Between working full-time, just finishing my Construction
Management Cert, being a mother to four kids, wife to
one wonderful man, and leading a support group at my
church it gets a bit much. At times, I wonder how I’m
going to make it until my kids are grown….it is
truly only by God’s strength and wisdom that I
will.
Cristy’s favorite Bible Verse is:
Jeremiah 29:11 – For I know the plans I have for
you, says the Lord. Plans to prosper you, not to harm
you, plans for a hope and a future.
Cristy shares the following words of Encouragement
for other Christian Working Moms: It’s impossible
to drive a car without gasoline….just like it’s
impossible to be the women that God wants us to be without
spending time in His word. God’s word is our everything
and has answers for all of our questions and problems…..so
if you are wondering how you are going to get through
another day open your Bible and I promise that God will
give you the strength that you need to get through the
day.
Cristy also wanted to share: I think that we as working
mothers have the hardest job in the world (don’t
want to start a debate – that is just how I feel).
We put a lot of pressure on ourselves and tend to take
care of ourselves last (example: I always make sure
that my kids and family get to the dentist regularly,
I just went for the first time in 4 years). I think
we need to stop being so hard on ourselves and remember
that we are human and can only do some much in one day…..be
kind to yourself.
Cristy thanks so much for sharing today
and the reminder to take care of ourselves. Often, we
don’t put ourselves on our own to do list.
Till next time,
