Interview
Welcome and Help
Hi everyone! I live in the Southeastern
United States and I’m roasting right now. I
think it is 90 degrees in the shade. Love that air
conditioning. Hope you are having a good summer. We
have almost 1500 women who have filled out the CWM
survey. If you have not filled out the survey go to
www.christianworkingmom.com
and click on survey on the home page. Also, if
you have ever deleted an issue of Pearls of Encouragement
for CWMs or a CWM Interview and you wanted to reread
it, you can find past issues on the archives page
at www.christianworkingmom.com.
I need your help. I need more CWMs who
are willing to be interviewed. I promise it is practically
painless. If you are interested, send an email to
Kimberly@kimberlychastain.com
and put interview in the subject heading. I will
email you the questions. Thanks in advance for your
help. Melissa thanks for helping out this month.
Interview
Melissa is a 37 year old CWM who lives
in the United States. She has a son age 11, a daughter
age 9, a full-time step-daughter age 16, and a part-time
son age 13. Melissa has been remarried for 4 years.
She owns a travel agency. You can check out her travel
agency at www.travelbugsonline.com.
Melissa shares the following joys of
being a CWM: Being able to provide my children with
a stable home life, showing my children how important
it is to lead a balanced life, allowing the whole
family to take part in running a home-based travel
agency.
She shares the following struggles of
being a Christian Working Mom: getting frustrated
when I want to be with the kids, but have a project
in the office that has to be completed, keeping the
promises I make to my children (making a promise in
the morning to go to the park after school and a challenge
comes up at work during the day that must be completed
that day).
Melissa’s favorite Bible Verse
is: There are so many I live by, but I would say my
favorite (and overall basis to my life) is John 13:34
“Love one another as I have loved you.”
God has been teaching Melissa the patience
to work on a schedule, turn work off when it’s
time, and to be able to let go of the things I have
no control over.
Melissa shares theses words of Encouragement
for other Christian Working Moms: Never lose sight
of what is most important to you…your family.
Read from the Bible every day and share what it means
to you with your family. Also, schedule into your
day time for yourself, time for your children, and
time for your husband. Don’t worry if the house
isn’t spotless…it can wait!
Thanks Melissa. We all need the reminder
about scheduling time for ourselves. I think we are
often the last person on our priority list.
Till next time,
