Interview
Final Thoughts
Welcome

Hi everyone. How are you doing? My children
started back to school this week. I would guess most
of your children will be heading back to school. Each
new school year has excitement and sometimes dread.
Remember to pray for your children’s teachers
and your children as well. Recently, I was visiting
another www.worldmagblog.com.
and there was a posting about working Moms. I posted
and was able to point women to our community. Unfortunately,
there were some negative comments which again confirmed
by conviction that this website is desperately needed.
Hope you are having a wonderful month and you are
doing things in God’s strength and not your
own.
Blog/Online Bible Study
The CWM Blog can be found at http://christianworkingmoms.blogspot.com.
There is a new question posted about the back to school
time of the year. Please come visit and share your
thoughts. As always you can ask any question on the
open comment section. The Online Bible Study can be
found at http://cwmbiblestudy.blogspot.com.
I do hope to post a new lesson soon. I will put an
announcement on the main CWM Blog when it is up and
ready to go.
Interview
Kerri is a happily married 30 year old
CWM who lives in the United States. She has two children
a boy age 6 and a girl age 3. Kerri is a Marketing
and Public Relations Executive.
Kerri shares the following joys of being
a CWM: I love using the gifts and talents God has
given me. I enjoy a job well done, and I thrive on
watching an idea or a creative project come to fruition.
There is an energy that stirs within me when I’m
working on a great project or when I know that success
has come from something I offered to a project –
something special that was placed in me for a reason.
I always thank God for creating me the way he has
and for leading me toward paths where I can blossom
and grow.
Kerri shares the following struggles
of being a CWM: The working world can sometimes be
a whirlwind where I get caught up in the hurriedness
and chaos of timelines and deadlines. My office time
is often not a place where I think about God and bringing
his Kingdom here on earth. It is not until I get in
the car, leaving the office that I feel like I can
exhale and acknowledge God, and sometimes I’m
so worn out from the work day that I really don’t
have much energy to give back to Him.
Her Favorite Bible Verse is: 1 John
5: 14-15 – This is the confidence we have in
approaching God, that whatever we ask of him, according
to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears
us – whatever we ask – we know that we
have what we’ve asked of him.
God is showing Kerri to love, serve
and pray for others; to find answers in The Word;
and to pray about everything and have faith that He
will take care of it all.
Kerri shares the following words of
encouragement for other CMWs: Set aside time for God.
Find it somewhere: get in bed 10 minutes earlier and
pick up a bible or a bible study, get up a few minutes
earlier and have coffee with God, pray in the shower,
keep the radio/CD player off in the car this month
and pray to him on your morning commute each morning.
Kerri also shares a few months ago,
I challenged myself to finding places to be with God,
and they have become my favorite places to be. I walk
every morning and pray for everyone I can think of
and everything going on in my life. I keep the radio
in my car off, and consciously listen for God. Sometimes,
I need to talk to him out loud, so I whip out my cell
phone while driving and talk to God. I have lunch
every Thursday with a small group of women who are
beautiful children of God and desire to bring His
Kingdom here on earth. I get in bed with the bible
and my bible study book each night, or the scripture
from Sunday’s sermon, and I read the Word, even
if it is just a verse or two. Because of these places,
God’s voice in my life has become clearer and
my path feels safer than it ever has before.
Kerri thanks so much for sharing. You
made so many good points. One that stood out to me
was thanking God for how he created you and the gifts
he has given you. I think as women sometimes we find
things we don’t like about ourselves and forget
to be thankful for how God made us and gifted us.
Also, thanks for the important reminder to be creative
in how we spend time with God. Time spent with God
is never wasted and is always refreshing.
Final Thoughts
The past two weeks have been pretty
tough for me. I finally realized how I was trying
to do everything in my own strength and not in God’s
strength. We have to purposely hand over everything
in our life to God. I always have to learn the hard
way. I hope that is not true for you.
Till next time,
