I pray that your family had a Blessed Easter and that you were
able to spend time meditating on God’s precious gift for
us. His redemption is more precious to me every day. A few months
ago I shared with you prayer partners where one lived in South
Africa and the other in lives in India. Today, we are blessed
to hear from Grace who lives in South Africa, but is Irish. I
appreciate Grace taking time to share with us today.
Carolyn Custis James is one of my favorite Christian woman authors.
She recently wrote a book entitled, “Half
the Church”. The book shares about a woman’s role
in church and also the difficulties of women all over the world.
This book is not an easy read, but it is life changing.
Interview
Grace is a married 29 year old Irish woman married to her South
African husband. Grace and her husband currently live in South
Africa. She has two boys, ages 8 and 7. Grace is a travel consultant.
Grace shares her joys of being a Christian Working Mom:
I get to work with 2 other Christians in the office, and we help
each other along. I pray for all the staff at my office. The Lord
gave me this job to honour God. “Whatever you do, work heartily,
as for the Lord and not for men.” Colossians 3:23. I pray
every day that through my walk God’s light will shine through
me. I also pray for my colleagues’ salvation. I enjoy visiting
CWM and I can access it when I have time. The CWM website has
plenty of courses and it’s a lifeline for me as a Christian
mum. It’s comforting to know there are other mums out there
just like me.
Grace struggles as a Christian Working Mom in that she misses
her children. It’s difficult to maintain house work and
work, my house at times is a mess. I don't get to take my children
home from school, so my children have to go to after care after
school and are dinners are rushed. I miss out on lots of day church
activities, etc. I can feel guilty at times that my husband can’t
come home to a clean home and a cooked meal.
Favorite Bible verse: “Trust in the Lord with all your
heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your
ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”
Proverbs 3:5,6ESV.
What is God teaching you right now?
To draw near to him in times of trials and to TRUST HIM, and
to keep my eyes on him. He is bringing me to a deeper level that
I never thought was possible. I do not want to be a lukewarm Christian.
Words of Encouragement for other Christian Working Moms:
Never be afraid to ask for help and when life gets to much sit
down make yourself a cup and have a chat with Jesus. He is there
24 / 7 around the clock. Take full advantage of CWMs, it’s
amazing what God is doing working through us all.
Anything else you would like to share:
While looking at the bottom of the news letter I saw I could sign
up for a prayer partner. Exactly what I needed, someone I could
encourage, and also pour my heart out to, not only a friend, but
a Christian mum friend even better.
I signed up straight away, it has being so encouraging, I was
blown away at how God worked through Kimberly, so many other mums
need this, Thank you Jesus. I know I have found a friend for life,
Thank you God for CWM's.
I think I now get more prayers and praise done at work than if
I were a stay at home mom.
There are so many CWMs like Grace that I can’t wait to
meet. I may only meet you virtually in this world, but I look
forward to heaven to meet you in person. I’m hoping God
will reserve a special place in heaven for CWMs to have a reunion.
There are days when I can’t wait to be in His presence praising
Him all day long. I love the verse, “For a day in your courts
is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper
in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness.”
Psalm 84:10. Let’s hear it for doorkeepers!!
