Article – Who is your Boss?
Welcome
Hello dear sisters in Christ. There
are 1300 women in our community. Thanks to all of
you who have filled out the CWM Survey at www.christianworkingmom.com.
Almost 1800 CWMs have filled out the survey. Just
a note to you about the survey, sometimes women will
ask me to respond to them on the survey. The surveys
are designed to be anonymous, so I cannot respond
to an individual survey, because I don’t have
an email address in which to respond. Feel free to
send me an email to Kimberly@kimberlychastain.com
if you have questions or comments that you want a
response. I thank God for all of you and may God continue
to draw you closer to Him.
Prayer Partners
I hope you are enjoying your prayer
partner if you have one. I had another CWM email me
recently wanting a prayer partner and I did not have
a CWM to match her with. So, if you would like a prayer
partner, please send me an email to Kimberly@kimberlychastain.com
and put Prayer Partner in the subject heading. I will
match you as soon as I can.
Blog/Online Bible Study
Thanks for all your comments about how
you handle school vacations with your children. I
love how we can learn from one another. I just posted
a question asking, “What God is teaching you
right now?” Let’s share how God is growing
us. Check the open comment section from time to time;
CWMs often post a question they would like other Moms
to answer. You can find the CWM Blog at http://christianworkingmoms.blogspot.com.
You can find the Online Bible Study at http://cwmbiblestudy.blogspot.com.

Article – Who is your Boss?
Part of being a CWM is the working part.
Ultimately, who is your boss and who do you work for?
Of course, you may say I work for my boss. I agree
on one level. Yet, your boss is Christ. He is who
lives in us as Christians and who we follow. Closely,
related to who our boss is, is who do you seek approval
from?
In my Sunday School class we are doing
the Patriarch Study by Beth Moore. She shared a comment
she had heard from someone that stuck in her memory
and I wanted to share it with you. The comment is
this: “God baptized me in the criticisms of
man so he would inoculate me from the approval of
man.”
Do you desperately need your boss’
approval and praise for how you do your job? Sometimes
we crave the approval of others more than God. Please
hear me very clearly the best witness we can have
at work is to do our best and not be seen as someone
who only does just enough to get by. Yet, if we have
to have praise from our boss or others we are serving
man not God.
I think as women we are often more susceptible
to what others think of us. We want to be liked. Yet,
if we truly follow Christ there will be times that
we take stands that are true and faithful to scripture
and people will hate us for believing in absolute
truth.
Let me go back to our original question.
We are to be workers who follow God’s law first
and then what our boss says. So, ultimately God is
our boss and must be glorified in all we do. How would
your life be different if you realized that the project
you are working on today or whatever task you have
at work was done for God not your boss? How would
your work quality change or would it change?
Remember who your boss is and please Him first. We
can never lose by pleasing God first. May you be inoculated
from the approval of man.
Final Thoughts
When was the last time you had fun?
Make sure you have fun with your children. Laughing
is good for the soul.
Till next time,
Kimberly M. Chastain
