Interview
Thank you for continuing to fill out
the Christian Working Mom Survey. I think we are now
over 850. Wouldn’t it be great to eventually
have 1,000 CWM’s fill out the survey?! If you
have not filled out the survey go to www.christianworkingmom.com
and click on survey. Let me add one note about the
survey, the surveys are completely anonymous. Many
of you leave comments that are very helpful. I would
love to respond to you, but cannot due to them being
anonymous. You can include your email and I will respond.
Feel free to tell your friends as well. I hope you
are having a wonderful spring, if you live in the
US. I’m aware some of our readers are definitely
not in spring.
Need your help?! I need more women to
be willing to be interviewed. It is practically painless.
I will send you a list of questions by email and you
can answer and send them back. If you are willing
to be interviewed, please send an email to Kimberly@kimberlychastain.com
and put interview in the Subject heading.
Blog Comments
We have had a good discussion on the
Christian Working Mom Blog about what a typical day
is like for you. Frankly, I was exhausted in reading
about some of your days. Feel free to join the discussion.
Also, there is a posting now about how you have discussed
sex with your children. As always there is an open
comment section to start new discussions. Visit the
Blog at http://www.kimberlychastain.com/my-journal.
Interview
Alicia is a 31 year old married CWM
who lives in the United States. She has a daughter
age 1.
Alicia says the joys of being a CWM
are: as a teacher, having the wonderful opportunity
to share the love of Christ with my students.
Alicia says the struggles of being a
Christian Working Mom are: finding that “balancing
act” between work and home.
Her favorite Bible Verse is: Psalm 23:1
“The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want…….”
I think of this verse when trying to juggle the work/home
balance.
Alicia shares the following words of
Encouragement for other Christian Working moms: You
can do it! Enlist in a support system of family and
friends who will be there for you! Do not be afraid
to say “No!” Like most new Mom’s,
I thought I could step back on the merry go round
of my “former schedule” once I brought
my baby home from the hospital (laugh!). Graciously
accept help and support from your buddies.
Alicia would also like to share: Ignore
those who wish to enlist you into the Mommy wars”
and concentrate on being the best Mom you can be.
Jesus wore and continues to wear many “hats”
of ministry; you can, too!!
I appreciate you sharing Alicia and
I know your students are seeing Christ in you. You
have a ministry at school and home. You also make
a good point about graciously accepting help, sometimes
we become too self-sufficient.
Till next time,
